Vu Dan Tan

Vu Dan Tan (1946), autodidact from Hanoi, exhibited in Havana, Bangkok, Helsinki, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kassel, Berlin, Taipei, Macao, Aukland, Brisbane, Tokyo, Paris and many times in Russia. Although 57 years old he's the most childlike, fanciful painter, sculptor and maker of small objects and installations (e.g.. his Cadillac Project in 2002). His themes are never essentially local or national. In his series 'Fashion' he parodies fashion designs, but also plays a mysterious play with the absent body.
